The instability of the period prohibited the launch of the General Population and Housing Census (RGPH). UNFPA support continued to solidify readiness for the operation. It also provided funding for the future dissemination of the information collected.
The enumeration and post-enumeration phases (processing, analysis and dissemination) of the census could not be launched, despite the fact that all the activities of the pre-collection phase have already been carried out. The inability to conduct the last two stages of the census project is due to the multifaceted crises the country is experiencing, including instructions imposed by national authorities to deal with the spread of Covid-19. With the contributions of UNFPA, the Haitian government and its partners have failed to put in place an integrated data system necessary for the formulation, monitoring and evaluation of national public policies. UNFPA has initiated a series of preparatory activities to strengthen the national statistical system through actions focused on governance, capacity building, improvement of the quantity and quality of statistical production and promotion of the culture and use of statistical data.

UNFPA has achieved satisfactory results in strengthening national capacities in terms of integrating demographic dynamics, sexual and reproductive health and gender equality into sectoral policies in Haiti.

UNFPA provided the Haitian government with financial and technical support that enabled the production of documents to monitor national progress in relation to the Montevideo Consensus and the CIPD25, the realization of a mission in Africa on the capture of the demographic dividend, participation in Latin American and Caribbean conferences on national progress and challenges in population and development.
